川越の江戸期の薬屋さんの2棟を移築した。1階は檜材、2階は松材だ。1階はお店なので柱のない空間。エントランスは、4間(7m)柱がない檜の大梁があり、その両側と梁の中央から直角方向に大黒柱がある。お店は蔵仕様なので3尺ごとに柱があり、壁は落とし板をダボでつないである。外壁は漆喰だ。解体すると、材の力が解けて材形が変化するので、岩手まで運び調整後、再び矢切に持込み組み立てた。工費は住まいとギャラリーで8千万円ほどかかった。古い民家を移築再生することで、技術の伝承ど材の命の継続ができた。結のギャラリーは、地域の交流の場となっている。

本物の蔵を移築したお店です。真夏でもひんやりして、落ち着く空間。いろんな展示ものもあり、 3月のつるし雛は圧巻です。食事する時は事前に電話して予約を。
